Toronto 2030 District is working with building owners, facility teams, consultants, and industry partners who are planning, implementing, or exploring heat pump fuel switching projects.
By participating in the Fuel Switching Pilot Program, projects become part of a collaborative Peer-to-Peer Learning Network where participants can learn from others facing similar challenges, access expertise, and contribute lessons learned that help advance building decarbonization across Toronto.
The Peer-to-Peer Learning Network connects participants who are planning and building, or have implemented, heat pump and HVAC electrification projects, so they can learn from one another rather than tackling challenges alone.
Many organizations face similar barriers when planning and implementing decarbonization projects. Through the network, participants can share experiences, discuss solutions, and benefit from the knowledge of others who have already navigated similar decisions.
The Fuel Switching Pilot Program supports commercial building projects that are exploring or implementing a transition from natural gas heating systems to electric heat pumps. It focuses on learning from real-world projects and helping participants navigate common challenges associated with building electrification.
