WHO WE ARE
- The Toronto 2030 District is a private–public initiative working to accelerate a low-carbon future for Toronto’s built environment.
- We bring together property owners, managers, tenants, utilities, government, and community partners to reduce operational greenhouse gas emissions from buildings.
- The District spans over 300 million square feet of commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial space across downtown Toronto.
- We focus on practical, data-driven collaboration that helps buildings reduce emissions while improving cost efficiency, resilience, and long-term value.
WHAT WE DO
- We act as a collaborative network and learning platform that helps stakeholders identify and implement effective decarbonization strategies.
- Through shared knowledge, tools, and benchmarking, we support property owners and managers in making informed, actionable decisions that accelerate building performance improvements.
- We also connect members to conservation programs and enable better tracking of energy, water, and transportation-related emissions.
Mission
Accelerate building decarbonization across Toronto by bringing together stakeholders, advancing practical solutions, and enabling coordinated action across the built environment.
Vision
A zero-carbon Toronto achieved through collective action, where buildings are transformed at scale through collaboration, shared knowledge, and evidence-based decision-making.
Values
We believe in collaboration, action, and evidence as the foundation for change. We strengthen the business case for decarbonization and recognize that meaningful transformation requires participation from everyone.
