Greater Victoria 2030 District

3 Million Square Feet of Greater Victoria is committed to reducing
the environmental impact of building construction and operations.

The Greater Victoria 2030 District is a public-private-nonprofit collaborative working to create a groundbreaking high-performance building district.

Our goal is to dramatically reduce the environmental impacts of building construction and operations while increasing Greater Victoria’s competitiveness in the business environment and increasing owners’ return on investment.

We are proud to be one of the twenty-three established districts operating within The 2030 Districts Network.

TAKE THE 2030 PLEDGE

If you have a commercial building in Greater Victoria and want to pledge to reduce your energy use, water use, and transportation emissions, we'd love to hear from you!

The Greater Victoria 2030 District will become a hub of thriving high performance buildings that are reducing their contributions to climate change and increasing their resilience. We unite the private and public sector in catalyzing transformative change to achieve this goal.

Hosted by BOMA BC, the Greater Victoria 2030 District consists of 38 buildings and 3.7 million square feet of space, represented by major property managers in the region: Anthem Properties, Colliers International, Cushman & Wakefield, Ivanhoe Cambridge, Jawl Properties, Richmond Property Group, Shape Properties, Townline Properties, City of Victoria, District of Saanich, Capital Regional District, and Province of BC.

Each member of the District has committed participating buildings to meeting 50% reductions in energy and greenhouse emissions as established by Architecture 2030 in its 2030 Challenge for Planning.

We recently completed our annual progress report. Read our inaugural report here.

The Greater Victoria 2030 District is looking for forward-thinking property owners and managers in Greater Victoria and their buildings to join the network, and work to develop a world-class hub of buildings moving towards a zero-carbon future by reducing operational energy use and decarbonizing buildings to ensure healthy built environments and environmental resilience and adaptation.
