What is EPA’s ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager®?
ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® is the Industry Standard for Benchmarking Commercial Buildings and is an interactive resource management tool that enables you to benchmark the energy use of any type of building, all in a secure online environment. (energystar.gov)
What is Energy Benchmarking?
Energy benchmarking involves gathering all utility usage & billing data for your building/property to compare your building’s usage to others with similar use type or other buildings in your portfolio. “Benchmarking turns the information on your utility bill into knowledge you can act on.” (energystar.gov)
What is an ENERGY STAR®Score?
The 1-100 ENERGY STAR®Score “compares your building’s energy performance to similar buildings nationwide, normalized for weather and operating characteristics. A score of 50 represents median performance. A higher score is better than average; lower is worse.” (energystar.gov)
I do not have an ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® Account.

There are many reports available inside your ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® account. Once you have your account set up and utility data uploaded you can go through available reports and select one that fits your needs.
The Automated Benchmarking Service (ABS) includes an annual statement of energy use that helps you make data-driven decisions based on key performance indicators. Tracking your buildings energy use over time allows you to understand the impact of any past energy conservation measures that you’ve completed.
