John Ball Zoo is a nonprofit corporation committed to the advancement of public education on the need for wildlife conservation and preservation. We inspire our community to be actively engaged in the conservation of wildlife and our natural environment. Zoos have evolved through the years and our story reflects that evolution. Education became a major focus, naturalistic design became a force, and conservation became the mission.

We are always evolving and learning how we can improve for our animals, staff, and guests. We are working on a roadmap to become a carbon-neutral corporation. We are learning and there is still work to be done and we cannot do it alone. We have an opportunity to partner with local businesses in our community, give each other insight, and inspire each other to make sustainable changes. We make our community better by encouraging and making each other accountable to do and be better.
