The Seattle and Bellevue 2030 Districts are collaborative initiatives dedicated to fostering urban sustainability and resilience. Established as a public-private partnership, our mission is to create vibrant, environmentally-conscious urban areas by 2030 through innovative strategies and community-driven efforts. As a program of the Seattle 2030 District, the Bellevue 2030 District works to break down market barriers to sustainability in the city of Bellevue, Washington.
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Events & Engagement Coordinator to lead and coordinate education and fundraising events within the Seattle and Bellevue 2030 Districts. The 2030 Districts host three annual fundraising events and three “Education Weeks.” Additional education events are scheduled on an ad hoc basis. The Events & Engagement Coordinator will play a pivotal role in organizing and executing these events, engaging stakeholders, and monitoring progress toward ambitious organizational goals. Additionally, this role will support membership recruitment, retention, and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Events
- Drive attendance to events through outreach, promotional campaigns, and leveraging partnerships.
- Plan and manage logistics for all events, adhering to prescribed timelines for execution.
- Coordinate day-of event execution, including setup, operations, and breakdown.
- Manage relationships with sponsors, speakers, and partners to ensure smooth collaboration.
- Track progress toward fundraising targets and provide updates to leadership.
- Handle administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, taking notes, and maintaining event records.
- Ensure personal transportation is available for traveling to event locations.
- Be capable of lifting up to 40 lbs to assist with event setups.
Membership
- Maintain an up-to-date membership list and ensure accuracy in tracking member status.
- Send membership renewal notices and follow up to secure timely renewals.
- Ensure members receive their benefits, including event access and resources.
- Build and enhance a prospect list to support membership growth.
- Attend networking events to engage with prospective members and stakeholders.
- Schedule and attend meetings with current and prospective members, taking notes and following up as necessary.
- Exhibit strong communication skills in interactions via phone, email, or in person.
Communications
- Draft engaging content for social media posts, newsletters, and email blasts promoting events and membership.
- Recognize members and highlight sustainability projects across the region.
- Ensure sponsors and funders are appropriately recognized in digital and event-related communications.
- Collaborate with leadership to create consistent and impactful messaging.
Role responsibilities include other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
- Proven experience in event coordination, including planning, logistics, and day-of execution.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across phone and email.
- Proficiency in social media platforms, email marketing tools, and basic graphic design software (e.g., Canva).
- Familiarity with sustainability, urban planning, or related topics is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Compensation & Benefits
- $22.00-$25.00 Hourly – 20-30 hours per/week
