Tour: Georgetown Wet Weather Treatment Station

January 24 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm PST

The 2030 District is kicking off our 2024 stormwater events with a tour of an important project in our own back yard: the newly constructed Georgetown Wet Weather Treatment Station. By treating up to 70 million gallons of combined rain and wastewater a day, this facility is making a direct impact on the health of our waterways and ecosystems. Before the station was completed in 2022, heavy rains would fill up the area’s sewer pipes, sending polluted runoff and sewage through a pipe into the river.

“The Georgetown Wet Weather Treatment Station is now operating, cleaning millions of gallons of polluted stormwater runoff that would have otherwise flowed directly into the Duwamish River and Puget Sound. Our teams are busy optimizing the station so it can do the best job possible protecting public health and the environment with excellent water quality.”

Join us to celebrate this important work and learn the ins and outs of large scale stormwater treatment. Space is limited, so grab your ticket now!6185 4th Avenue South Seattle, WA 98108Ge
