Join us for an education event on Embodied Carbon and Lifecycle Assessment. This event will delve into the critical aspects of understanding and mitigating the environmental impacts of building materials throughout their lifecycle. Participants will gain valuable insights into how to measure and reduce embodied carbon, contributing to more sustainable building practices.
We are proud to partner with DCI Engineers and Gensler & Associates for this event. DCI Engineers will discuss the importance of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) with a focus on considerations for reducing embodied carbon during schematic structural system selection, in addition to methods for optimizing environmental impacts throughout the entire design process that meet the goal of achieving net-zero structures by the year 2050. They will also discuss their expertise in Whole Building LCA (Structure & Enclosure), which includes green building rating system documentation for standards like LEED, ILFI, Green Globes, and AEGB.
We are also excited to be joined by Gensler & Associates, a global architecture, design, and planning firm with 56 locations worldwide. Gensler has committed to a net carbon-neutral portfolio by 2030. In addition to Architecture and Design services, Gensler offers sustainability consulting services and strategies for developers, building owners, and tenants to minimize operational and embodied carbon in both new and existing buildings. An exemplary project is Gensler Seattle’s 2022 Office Renovation, a Fitwel 3-star rated project focused on redefining the post-Covid workplace while prioritizing employee wellbeing and material reuse as sustainability drivers.
Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with industry experts, network with peers, and enhance your understanding of sustainable building practices.
