2030 District Staff

Daniel Poppe

Executive Director

Daniel Poppe is a sustainability professional with extensive experience in clean energy and nonprofit management. As Executive Director, he manages the programmatic and administrative functions of the Seattle 2030 District.
Before joining the 2030 District, Daniel worked for nonprofits focusing on clean energy equity, salmon conservation, and transportation. Daniel holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of British Columbia and an M.P.A. from the University of Washington.

Riley Lynch

Sustainability Program Manager

As the Sustainability Program Manager, Riley Lynch oversees the building performance and education programming for the Seattle 2030 District. She works with property owners/members, architects, engineers, contractors, and developers to achieve the 2030 targets.

Prior to joining the 2030 team, Riley worked for Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility and Senator Reuven Carlyle’s office in Olympia. Riley graduated from the Stanford University Earth Systems program.

Lydia Bazikos

Sustainability Program Coordinator

Lydia Bazikos coordinates our programming in the Puget Sound region to advance the 2030 District goals. She leads education and outreach in Bellevue and beyond, working with our members to create a more sustainable built environment.

Lydia graduated from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Sustainability. She served as the programming lead for the DU Center for Sustainability.

Emma Dexter

Sustainability Program Coordinator

Emma brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in environmental studies, climate change resilience, and community development. With a Master’s in Coastal Communities and Regional Development from the University Centre of the Westfjords and a double major in Environmental Studies and Anthropology from Colgate University, Emma has conducted impactful research, including projects on climate-change awareness in Iceland and water-related issues in New York.

Anita Jeerage - Chair

Unico Properties - Vice President, Sustainability and ESG

Director of Sustainable Real Estate leading the implementation of sustainability initiatives for Unico’s real estate portfolio. Passionate about finding pragmatic, value-generating solutions that protect the natural environment and enhance communities. Enjoys collaboration and making sustainability topics accessible and relevant to all stakeholders.

Kiki Gram - Vice Chair

Vulcan Real Estate - Senior Real Estate Development Manager

Development Manager for commercial and residential projects within the District. Significant experience in transit-oriented development and innovative public/private stormwater projects. Advocate for affordable retail development strategies. Licensed architect with over twenty years of sustainable design and development experience.

Ian Kell - Treasurer

Seneca Group - Associate Principal

Development Manager overseeing two large commercial mixed-use high-rise projects for local high-tech firms. Leads integrated project teams that drive sustainability into building design and construction, with a focus on reducing carbon and water use intensities, and motivating the building industry to rapidly adapt to decarbonize new construction projects.

Steve Bragalone - Secretary

Space Needle - Vice President of Operations and Sustainability (Former)

Steve is a hospitality specialist for iconic institutions in Seattle since 2005. He is focused on elevating building operations through systems thinking, biomimicry, and community partnerships. Steve manages guest engagement for over 2 million annual visitors with an emphasis on sustainability improvements that lead & inspire behavioral changes while strengthening collaborative relationships across multiple lines of business.

He is a Diversity & Environmental Advocate committed to a healthy, viable, and optimistic future.

Peter Alspach

McKinstry - Principal, Director of New Construction/National Design Build

An engineer amongst architects. Passionate about environmental, human, and business performance. Education focus includes teaching K-12 to university levels, national presentations, and leading professional development programs. Research and data-driven solutions to solving the climate crisis while helping people and businesses flourish into a future of uncertainty.

Gilbert Archuleta

Puget Sound Energy - Director, Customer Energy Management

Gilbert Archuleta currently serves as the Director, Clean Energy Management for Puget Sound Energy. He is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Business Energy Management, Residential Energy Efficiency, Customer Experience and Program Development and Evaluation functions. He provides direction for the policy development and implementation of PSE’s suite of energy efficiency programs to meet mandated savings targets as required by law, including those that are revenue bearing, in coordination with other customer-facing departments.

Joe Fernandi

Seattle City Light - Director, Customer Energy Solutions

Joe is the Director of Customer Energy Solutions at Seattle City Light. In this capacity, he leads a division responsible for strategy development, program design, delivery, and ongoing management across a $40M portfolio that includes energy efficiency, demand response, distributed generation, affordability, and electrification programs.

Kirk Hovenkotter

Transportation Choices Coalition - Executive Director

Kirk serves as the Executive Director of the Transportation Choices Coalition, leading the way to build a transportation system that connects people to jobs, education, housing, health care, communities, and each other.

Before joining TCC, Kirk served as the Executive Director at Commute Seattle.

Alex Hudson

Commute Seattle - Executive Director

As the Executive Director of Commute Seattle, Alex works to reduce the impacts of transportation in the city of Seattle.

Prior to Alex’s 2023 run for Seattle City Council, she served for four years as the
executive director of Transportation Choices Coalition and for four years as the
founding executive director of the First Hill Neighborhood Association. She has a
proven track record of increasing the impact of the organizations she’s led,
building partnerships, and working closely with diverse stakeholders to achieve
results. She knows the issues and players well and is excited to hit the ground
running in the new year to advance Commute Seattle’s strategic priorities and support the DTA.

Matthew Klutznick

Kidder Mathews - Senior Vice President

Matthew Klutznick is a Senior Vice President based in Kidder Mathews’ Bellevue office and has 35 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. In addition to his newest assignment as manager of the 555 Tower, his experience includes managing luxury retail shopping centers such as The Bravern in Downtown Bellevue, Class-A office buildings, and Director of Operations for the retail programs at O’Hare International and Midway airports on behalf of the City of Chicago. Matthew’s background includes managing daily operations, large scale redevelopments, financial analysis, leasing and overseeing tenant improvements and capital projects totaling $100M over his career.

Matthew is a licensed broker in the State of Washington and held licenses in Oregon and California. Matthew has sat on the Board of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, was a member of the Transportation Committee for the City of Bellevue and similar roles in various other organizations throughout his career.

Gladys Ly-Au Young

Side x Side Architects - Founding Partner

Gladys is a founding partner of a local firm, driven by a social purpose to design earth-friendly, community-based places that function well, create belonging and promote health and sustainability. She leverages the resilience built from her background to connect the work in multiple mission-driven sectors, including community and cultural spaces, education, affordable housing, and homeless day shelter.

Kerry Meade

Building Potential/Smart Building Center - Executive Director

As the Executive Director of both Building Potential and the Smart Buildings Center, Kerry leads two incredible organizations in the energy and smart buildings sectors. With over a decade of experience in strategic consulting and team development, Kerry takes pride in fostering innovation and building a strong community.

Jamie Peterson

CBRE - Senior Real Estate Manager

Jamie is a Senior Real Estate Manager for CBRE managing commercial office and life sciences buildings within the district. She works with institutional owners and tenants to drive sustainability goals across portfolio. Jamie educates the market on sustainability initiatives through participation in the CBRE PNW Sustainability Committee.

Laura Soma

GLY Construction - Sustainability Manager

Laura is a 27-year industry veteran and Sustainability Manager at GLY Construction – guiding corporate sustainability initiatives and supporting project-specific goals with a whole-systems perspective. She leads GLY’s Sustainability Advisory Group and contributes to numerous professional organizations through regular committee involvement including Sustainable Construction Leaders through Building Green, the Education Committees for both Seattle 2030 District and the Seattle AIA COTE, and most recently, the NAIOP Sustainable Development Committee.

Laura’s background in Project Management enables her to see the big picture and better understand a Client’s bottom line. Her passion for steering the construction industry towards an environmentally-sound future is grounded in her belief that it is our responsibility to care for our planet, making it better for the next generation.

Todd Sparrow

Hudson Pacific Properties - Director, Pacific Northwest Portfolio Engineering

Responsible for managing engineering operations for the company’s Pacific Northwest portfolio. Works collaboratively with acquisition and development teams to meet the company’s ESG goals.

Catherine Stanford

CAStanford Public Affairs - Principal

Founding member of the District. Works in and understands government and public affairs. Strong network with policy makers in the region and at the State level. Thirty years of experience in commercial real estate management and development/public and private sectors. Represent BOMA Committees: Executive, Policy.

Sabrina Villanueva

Clise Properties - Senior Director, Property Management

Sabrina served as the Board Chair of the 2030 Districts and oversaw the launch of the Bellevue 2030 District in 2023. She manages commercial buildings within the district. Access to tenants for educational opportunities. Influence over capital projects that move the mission forward. Heavily involved in transportation planning and projects throughout the city. Native Seattleite with a vested interest in sustainability.
