The Pittsburgh 2030 District

87.1 million square feet of Pittsburgh is committed to reducing
the environmental impact of building construction and operations

The Pittsburgh District is a public-private-nonprofit collaborative working to create a groundbreaking high-performance building district in downtown Pittsburgh.

Our goal is to dramatically reduce the environmental impacts of building construction and operations while increasing Pittsburgh’s competitiveness in the business environment and increasing owners’ return on investment.

We are proud to be one of the twenty-three established districts operating within The 2030 Districts Network.

TAKE THE 2030 PLEDGE

If you have a commercial building in Pittsburgh and want to pledge to reduce your energy use, water use, and transportation emissions, we'd love to hear from you!

Contact Tobias Chan (tobiasc@gbapgh.org) to learn more and sign the 2030 pledge.

The Pittsburgh 2030 District, presented by Covestro, is an internationally recognized, locally driven strategic initiative of Green Building Alliance (GBA) that supports building owners and managers as they strive towards dramatic improvements in building performance. Local properties commit to the 2030 Challenge goals: 50-65% reductions in carbon emissions for existing buildings and zero carbon for new construction and major renovations by the year 2030, while reducing water consumption and improving indoor air quality.

Watch our intro video about the importance of the District’s work and what it means for organizations to be part of the District.
