Ithaca 2030 District

500 Thousand Square Feet of Ithaca is committed to reducing
the environmental impact of building construction and operations.

The Ithaca District

The Ithaca District is a public-private-nonprofit collaborative working to create a groundbreaking high-performance building district in downtown Ithaca.

Our goal is to dramatically reduce the environmental impacts of building construction and operations while increasing Ithaca’s competitiveness in the business environment and increasing owners’ return on investment.

We are proud to be one of the twenty-three established districts operating within The 2030 Districts Network.

TAKE THE 2030 PLEDGE

If you have a commercial building in Ithaca and want to pledge to reduce your energy use, water use, and transportation emissions, we'd love to hear from you!

The Ithaca 2030 District is an interdisciplinary public-private collaboration working to create a groundbreaking high-performance building district in Downtown Ithaca. A project of the Tompkins County Climate Protection Initiative (TCCPI), the Ithaca 2030 District is part of a larger effort in Tompkins County to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions 80% by 2050.

By making the business case for efficient operations, the District is driving innovation through collaboration, leveraged financing, and shared resources. The District builds on the TCCPI model to provide a non-competitive collaborative environment where building owners, community organizations, and professionals come together to share best practices and accelerate market transformation in Ithaca’s built environment.
