While expansive windows and views are attractive selling points for any commercial building, older structures—between 30 to 60 years old—typically have single-pane windows. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, these inefficient windows place a heavy burden on HVAC systems, and account for as much as 25 percent of a typical building’s heating load in cold climates and 50 percent of the cooling load in warm climates.
It’s no surprise that a top priority for building owners is replacing old, drafty windows with newer, more energy-efficient glass. However, the cost of ripping out and replacing windows is often prohibitive and other measures, such as installing window film, are not an effective year-round solution.
To address this issue, the owners of J.E. Berkowitz (JEB) developed and Patented the Renovate by Berkowitz Window Retrofit System. Click here to learn more about the Renovate System.
