The Toronto 2030 District has supported the development of two tools to assist with energy benchmarking and reporting: the Compass<\/a> tool for buildings that are in the design stage and the Toronto 2030 Platform<\/a> for the existing building stock in Toronto\u2019s downtown.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Toronto 2030 Platform<\/h2>\n

<\/a>\u00a0The Toronto 2030 Platform<\/a> was developed to help the Toronto 2030 District monitor its progress towards the Architecture 2030 Challenge targets. It displays energy use, water consumption and transportation emissions data for the District by building type and block. It also provides simplified tools to help users\u00a0connect to conservation programs, join the District as new members, and share building performance data. The Toronto 2030 Platform<\/a> was designed to be replicable in communities of all sizes.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Compass<\/h2>\n

The Compass<\/a> tool streamlines energy benchmarking and reporting during the design phase of building development projects. The tool enables users to upload energy models (eQuest, EnergyPlus, or IES-VE) and then automatically extracts over 400 building variables and completes the submission requirements for six building standards and programs (LEED, TGS, OBC SB-10, 2030 Challenge, TGS and HPNC) in a matter of seconds. A data visualization platform allows users to benchmark their modelled building against a database, enabling\u00a0users to make informed choices that move towards enhanced building performance.
