Chris will bring her vast experience throughout the world of sustainability to Green Building Alliance<\/a> as Senior Director of the\u00a0Pittsburgh 2030 District<\/a>. She will also hold the title of Vice President of Program Strategy & Impact. Chris has devoted her career to sustainable development by serving as an owner\u2019s representative and project manager and providing engineering expertise to cultural, entertainment, and educational institutions.\u00a0 \u00a0This experience makes Chris uniquely qualified to lead the Pittsburgh 2030 District\u2019s diverse array of Property Partners.<\/p>\n

Chris played an important role serving as the owner\u2019s representative or project manager on many significant projects. These have included professional sports venues for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Edmonton Oilers, educational institutions including AW Beattie Career Center and Pittsburgh Public Schools, and cultural institutions such as the Carnegie Science Center and Children\u2019s Museum of Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n

Most recently, Chris was the project director for the $19 million renovation of the historic\u00a0Carnegie Free Library of Allegheny into the Museum Lab<\/a>. Through her leadership, the interactive makerspace\/museum achieved LEED Gold certification, was the first museum nationally to earn a Universal Design Certification, and was the first regional project to achieve the goals of the 2030 Challenge.<\/p>\n

Chris spent twenty-four years in the Army Reserve and retired with a record of distinguished service. She earned a Bronze Star over the course of two combat tours while serving as the Chief of Strategic Basing in Afghanistan. Upon returning home after service, Chris has led various sustainability improvement projects with multiple professional sports teams including the San Antonio Spurs and the hometown Penguins and Pirates.<\/p>\n

\u201cChris brings the perfect combination of experience, leadership, and knowledge working with cross-sector stakeholders to integrate positive environmental, health, and economic outcomes in projects of all types and scales,\u201d said Jenna Cramer, Executive Director of GBA. \u201cWith only a decade to achieve the aspirational 2030 goals, Chris is the ideal addition to GBA\u2019s team as we work to scale our impact of the Pittsburgh 2030 District and overall organization to create a resilient, thriving, and healthy region for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n
