A long-term objective of Ingham County’s strategic plan is promoting environmental protection, smart growth, and conservation. The Board of Commissioners has recognized the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the implementation of renewable energy for county operations as a top priority and has re-established the Environmental Affairs Commission. The commission meets on a quarterly basis to discuss relevant topics and work to support reduction in energy usage, green house gas emissions and support overall sustainability.
The next meeting is on October 1, 2025 at 5:30 PM Eastern time at the Ingham County Human Services Building, 5303 S.Cedar, Lansing. This meeting is open to the public.
