The pilot will help commercial property owners and managers turn benchmarking data into practical action \u2014 reducing energy use, carbon pollution, and operating costs. There is no cost to participate and participation is limited to 5\u20138 buildings.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>ROAR Resiliency Tool<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Coming Soon!<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>The Resiliency Opportunity Assessment + Response (ROAR)<\/strong> <strong>Tool<\/strong> is a data-driven resource that will help commercial building owners and managers evaluate climate-related risks and identify practical actions to strengthen resilience and protect asset value. Designed for ease of use, ROAR requires minimal inputs and delivers clear, actionable outputs, including prioritized resilience measures, cost implications, and potential savings. This supports bylaws approved in Saanich and Victoria in 2025.<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zeic.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Zero Emission Innovation Centre (ZEIC)<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Our colleagues at ZEIC have many resources on their website (linked to in foregoing heading) including programs like &#8220;B2E&#8221; &amp; &#8220;zebx&#8221;. Get started by plugging your account number into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bchydro.com\/program_eligibility\/AccountLookupPage.do\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eligibility search tool<\/a> to find programs that you&#8217;re eligible for. You can also visit their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bchydro.com\/powersmart\/business\/programs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Programs &amp; Incentives<\/a> web page for programs like their Energy Storage Offer and MURB Retrofit Program, and also their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bchydro.com\/powersmart\/business\/technologies-equipment.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Technologies &amp; Tips<\/a> page.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Fortis<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>You can visit their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fortisbc.com\/rebates-and-energy-savings\/rebates-and-offers\/rebates-business?l=854782f6-e837-471f-a61e-219becb277ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rebates &amp; Offers<\/a> web page for offers like their Continuous Optimization and\u00a0Commercial Energy Assessment Programs.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Saanich&#8217;s CATE program<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>For buildings located in the District of Saanich, consider their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saanich.ca\/ClimateTaxExemption\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Climate Action Tax Exemption<\/a> (CATE) initiative. This program provides a tax holiday for projects that replace a fossil fuel mechanical system with an electric mechanical system for the building\u2019s space heating and\/or domestic hot water. For commercial buildings, the base incentive is calculated as 50% of Project Costs (after accounting other rebates) with a maximum exemption lasting three years. Residential buildings can get up to 100% of eligible project expenses and a 10 year exemption.<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zeic.ca\/programs\/bc-retrofit-accelerator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>BC Retrofit Accelerator (including the Strata Energy Advisor Program)<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The BC Retrofit Accelerator is a coaching and advisory initiative that helps building owners and strata councils plan and implement deep retrofits<\/p>\n<p>(Also see &#8220;ZEIC&#8221; above)<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vancity.com\/business\/financing\/retrofit-financing-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Vancity&#8217;s Commercial Retrofit Financing Program<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Vancity can offer preferred pricing and terms for financing of building upgrades that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and are on a pathway to net-zero building.
