{"id":2459,"date":"2024-07-16T10:59:50","date_gmt":"2024-07-16T10:59:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/2030districts.org\/cleveland\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=2459"},"modified":"2024-07-16T11:04:32","modified_gmt":"2024-07-16T11:04:32","slug":"aia-cleveland-event-sandfest","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/2030districts.org\/cleveland\/event\/aia-cleveland-event-sandfest\/","title":{"rendered":"AIA Cleveland Event: Sandfest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\"><strong>This is an AIA Cleveland event:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Every summer, AIA Cleveland goes to the beach to raise funds for the ACE Mentor Program!<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Our chapter\u2019s signature event combines volleyball and sand castle construction to present a unique opportunity for Cleveland architects and designers to engage with the public on one of Cleveland\u2019s premier beaches (Edgewater Beach just west of Downtown Cleveland).<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Last year, in our 7th annual event, we raised $8,000 dollars for the ACE Mentorship Program Scholarship Fund. Thanks to Independence Excavating and through the assistance of Turner Construction and the Cleveland Metroparks we were able to raise a generous amount for ACE! <strong>Winners included Vocon (Best of the Beach and Runner-Up); GPD Group(Best Overall); Perspectus (Volleyball Runner-Up) and Vocon (Volleyball Winner).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">We are thrilled to unveil the theme for this year&#8217;s Sand Fest: <strong>&#8220;Adventures in Pop Culture&#8221;<\/strong>! Prepare to show off your artistic flair as we dive into the worlds of beloved characters, iconic scenes, and unforgettable moments from film, television, and beyond. Whether you&#8217;re a fan of superheroes, classic cartoons, or timeless movie moments, this theme offers endless possibilities for creativity and fun. We can&#8217;t wait to see how you bring these pop culture adventures to life in the sand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The ACE Mentor Program is an after-school mentorship initiative that teams fourteen CMSD student teams with architecture, construction, and engineering professionals to respond to a Cleveland-based RFP and encourage consideration of careers in design &amp; construction.
