The Cleveland area does not currently meet the 8-hour National Ambient Air Quality Standard for ozone as required by the Clean Air Act.\u00a0 The area is currently classified as \u201cmoderate nonattainment\u201d and may be reclassified to \u201cserious nonattainment\u201d as a result of continued ozone levels.\u00a0\u00a0This reclassification will require rule changes in Ohio\u2019s Administrative Code for certain stationary sources in the area, which is required by the Clean Air Act. \u00a0In preparation for these potential rule changes, Ohio EPA has begun early stakeholder outreach efforts and is accepting public comment.<\/p>\n

Cleveland Division of Air Quality invites residents and stakeholders to learn more about what this means and learn how to get involved in the rule-making process.\u00a0 Please join us for a virtual information session with a presentation by the Assistant Chief of the Division of Air Pollution Control at the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, Jennifer Van Vlerah.\u00a0 There will be two sessions held on the following dates: Tuesday, October 3 from 11:30AM \u2013 12:30PM and Wednesday, October 4 from 5:30PM \u2013 6:30PM.<\/strong> Both sessions will be recorded and made available for those who wish to attend, but cannot make it.<\/p>\n
