SUMMARY:BUILDING EDUCATION SERIES 2024: COMMENDABLE HISTORIC BUILDING UPGRADES AND ADAPTIVE REUSE PROJECTS
DESCRIPTION:Vitrual Event: \n\n\nIn this session\, our speakers will talk about historic building renovations and adaptive reuse projects. We’ll learn how and why they made their decisions to save aging buildings and give them new life.  Longfellow Elementary School was slated for demolition but was saved and converted into affordable housing for seniors.  The Sandusky State Theatre was all but destroyed in a storm in 2020.  Our speaker will discuss how and why they brought the building back with all the complex issues involved in a theatre restoration. We will also learn the details of the major renovation of the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel\, one of the most iconic hotels in Cleveland.
