DESCRIPTION:Leading national and local experts will provide an update on climate change and the science-based targets we must achieve to keep global warming in check. Are our targets sufficient\, or is it time to reassess them?\n\n\nOur speakers will review the science behind climate trends and the potential consequences if we fail to meet the global climate targets established by the Paris Accord.  When are we expecting to see 1.5 degrees of warming to occur and what can we predict about our climate?\nWe will examine how the built environment contributes to climate change and how intentional actions by architects and the commercial building sector can make a significant impact. We need to think about mitigation and adaptation for every building we touch.\n\nAdditionally\, we will review some key\, updated built environment related goals outlined in the Cleveland Climate Action Plan\, as well as some included in the draft Regional Climate Action Plan\, presented by Cleveland’s Office of Sustainability.\n\nWe will provide an overview of where the built environment is today and what progress has been made both nationally and globally.  Did we do enough? DESCRIPTION:The conference will again be at the Quest Center in Westerville\, Ohio\, just north of Columbus. The OMA is a leading voice on energy policy in Ohio. The OMA was one of the first\, loudest\, and most long lasting opponents of the corrupt House Bill 6 scheme and instrumental to including pro-consumer provisions in the bipartisan HB15.\n\nThe OMA Energy Conference attracts thought leaders and professionals working to make Ohio’s energy system more transparent\, cost competitive\, and reliable.
