SUMMARY:BUILDING EDUCATION SERIES 2026: MAJOR BUILDING DEVELOPMENTS IN CLEVELAND
DESCRIPTION:We will wrap up our year of education sessions with a panel of speakers who will delve into the details of several significant building development projects in Cleveland.  They will provide project insights on: \n\nIrishtown Bend: Rising above the Cuyahoga River\, Irishtown Bend will transform a once unstable hillside into a 25-acre riverfront park connecting Cleveland neighborhoods\, downtown\, and the river. Following a major hillside stabilization effort\, the park will feature trails\, gathering and recreational spaces\, and opportunities to celebrate the area’s cultural and industrial heritage. The project demonstrates how infrastructure investment can unlock new public space\, strengthen neighborhood connections\, and expand access to nature.\nNorth Coast Lakefront Development: Cleveland’s lakefront is set for a remarkable transformation. This multi-phased project will connect Downtown with Lake Erie’s waterfront. It will reimagine the 55 acres that include Huntington Bank Field and surrounding parking lots into a vibrant mixed-use district. A planned bridge will connect Downtown’s core to the lakefront\, spanning over Rt. 2. We will also discuss potential plans to incorporate the 450 acres of Burke Lakefront Airport in the overall design.\nProject Scarlet / Rose Building Redevelopment: This project’s mission is to preserve the Rose Building’s historic beauty while transforming it into an upscale Marriott Tribute hotel and – world’s first! – Marriott Tribute branded apartments. Developers paid close attention to environmental factors while transforming this iconic Cleveland building into a world-class hospitality and sophisticated living experience. We’ll learn about the step-by-step process\, current status / timeline and details of this unique hospitality / multifamily development at the “front door” of Downtown Cleveland.\nThe Midline: The Midline will transform approximately 350 acres of underutilized industrial land on Cleveland’s East Side into a new employment district anchored by a more than two-mile greenway. Bringing together brownfield remediation\, economic development\, and public-realm investment\, the project is designed to attract advanced manufacturing and emerging industries while creating green space and stronger neighborhood connections—ensuring that economic growth and community investment advance together.\n\nSpeakers: \nDeanna Palermo\, Director of Foundation Relations\, LAND studio \nAmanda Meier\, PLA\, LEED AP\, Landscape Architect\, Cleveland Metroparks \nScott Skinner\, President and Executive Director\, North Coast Waterfront Development \nGregg Cramer\, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Business Development\, Green Harvest Capital \nNate Felker\, Executive Vice President and General Counsel\, Green Harvest Capital \nKeisha González\, Executive Director and CEO\, LAND studio \nSara Jex\, Project Manager\, Site Readiness for Good Jobs Fund \n2 continuing education credits for: BOMA\, AEE\, ASHRAE\, AIA HSW\, certificate of attendance available for self reporting for Professional Engineers\, LEED and others. \n$15 for members of AIA\, ASHRAE\, 2030 Districts\, Cleveland State University\, Greater Cleveland Partnership\, USGBC\, City of Cleveland \n$20 for non-members \nStudents attend for free \nThis event is in person but also offered on Zoom. The link will be sent once registration is completed \n  \nREGISTER HERE \n  \nThanks to our Presenting Sponsor NOPEC\, a Cleveland 2030 District partner. \n \nThanks to our event sponsors Neptune Plumbing\, Duffy and Duffy Cost Segregation Experts\, Sustainable Energy Services\, all are Cleveland 2030 District partners.
