SUMMARY:City of Cleveland Event:  Cleveland Nonattainment Area Reclassification
DESCRIPTION:The Cleveland area does not currently meet the 8-hour National Ambient Air Quality Standard for ozone as required by the Clean Air Act.  The area is currently classified as “moderate nonattainment” and may be reclassified to “serious nonattainment” as a result of continued ozone levels.  This reclassification will require rule changes in Ohio’s Administrative Code for certain stationary sources in the area\, which is required by the Clean Air Act.  In preparation for these potential rule changes\, Ohio EPA has begun early stakeholder outreach efforts and is accepting public comment. \nCleveland Division of Air Quality invites residents and stakeholders to learn more about what this means and learn how to get involved in the rule-making process.  Please join us for a virtual information session with a presentation by the Assistant Chief of the Division of Air Pollution Control at the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency\, Jennifer Van Vlerah.  There will be two sessions held on the following dates: Tuesday\, October 3 from 11:30AM – 12:30PM and Wednesday\, October 4 from 5:30PM – 6:30PM. DESCRIPTION:Playhouse Square is the largest performing arts center outside of NYC and is one of Cleveland’s most iconic and beloved destinations. Come tour the performance spaces and learn the rich history of how Playhouse Square began\, how it fell into disrepair\, and how it was saved from the wrecking ball to become “one of the top 10 successes in Cleveland history” according to the media. We’ll learn why it’s known as the “world’s largest theater restoration project”\, drawing more than 1 million people each year.
