SUMMARY:Good Grid Citizens: Buildings\, Utilities\, and the Future of Demand Flexibility
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a panel conversation with leading voices in building-grid integration!\n\n\n\nThe electric grid is changing\, with demand surging due to electrification\, new large loads\, increased renewables\, and greater variability. Buildings will be expected to be active participants in an interconnected grid. Demand flexibility programs and virtual power plants allow commercial buildings to actively help balance the grid\, lower costs\, and support a cleaner energy future. \nJoin us for a panel conversation with representatives from Seattle City Light\, Puget Sound Energy\, and leading voices in building-grid integration to explore what this shift means for building owners and operators in the Seattle region. We’ll hear about active and emerging utility programs\, how buildings are already participating in grid flexibility today\, and what the road ahead looks like as electrification continues to reshape demand. \nWhether you manage a portfolio of buildings or design and engineer them\, this is a conversation about how the decisions you make on your side of the meter have consequences\, and opportunities\, on the other side. \nThe event will conclude with a networking happy hour\, featuring refreshments and light bites

SUMMARY:Overlake Medical Center Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a tour of Overlake Medical Center to see how UMC\, Puget Sound Energy (PSE)\, and the Overlake facilities team partnered to deliver deep energy savings in an active healthcare environment. Explore a real-world example of high-impact EUI reduction and learn from a complex\, operationally sensitive project. \nThe tour will highlight more than 40 energy efficiency measures\, from advanced HVAC controls and variable-speed pumping to plumbing system optimization and water conservation strategies—all implemented without disrupting critical hospital operations. \nDiscover how an integrated\, systems-based approach unlocked major cost savings\, significantly reducing the projected capital required to meet the compliance pathway\, while achieving a 16.3% reduction in energy use. Combined with substantial incentives from WA Commerce and PSE\, these energy savings delivered an ROI of nearly three years for the three-year project\, which is currently in its final year. Attendees will gain insights into how utilities\, contractors\, and facility teams can collaborate to deliver measurable results in complex buildings.
